Going to play around a bit. When I installed Linux Mint 13 Xfce on my Acer Aspire One, I left all the configuration files from my Linux Mint Debian Xfce install in the Home folder. To see the difference, I am installing 13 on my Dell 6000 after clearing out all the configuration files.
Guess this is what geeks do when they are sitting home bored. ![]()
Now that I am using Linux Mint 13, I get to use Ubuntu One again for auto syncing a folder. I already use Dropbox. With signing others up, I have 4.2 GB of space, which is about filled up. I have been waiting for Google to get their Linux Gdrive going, but that looks like it ain't coming. Today, I was reading about the upcoming Dell XPS 13 Project Sputnik which reminded me of Ubuntu One.
Now I have two automatically syncing folders with 9.2 GB (with Ubuntu One, you get 5 GB of free space.) of space. Sweet!
Of course, now I have to switch my two other computers to Linux Mint 13 from LMDE for this to be productive.
On my Acer Aspire One, I have switched from LMDE with XFCE 4.8 to Linux Mint 13 with XFCE 4.10. I was having issues with wireless at work and found the 13 worked better than LMDE.
Finally finished 'The Spy (An Isaac Bell Adventure)' by Clive Cussler & Justin Scott. It took me about a month! ![]()
It still being early, I picked up Stuart Woods book 'Santa Fe Dead' and proceeded to finish it on one sitting. A good breezy read.
... depravity in America starts with the acts of people like Westboro Baptist Church. Their act of photoshopping photos of the vigil in Aurora and their threat to picket the funerals of those that died I find despicable. When people use religion as an excuse to do this sort of thing here, it is no wonder America is sinking lower and lower.
express my opinions ... write ... use it as an outlet for my thoughts ... express what I feel are meaningful opinions ... become expressive ... i have an opinion, might as well share it ... I feel I am not growing, I am stagnating, use it to grow ... I have always used it as a place to express what I feel though others words and pictures, why not use my own words ... turn it into an actual web log of my thoughts ... make it meaningful ... make it worth visiting
I am detached. I am just going with the flow. I am bored. I am tired.
I am tired of being tired.
Can I become attached again?
A few weeks ago a friend of mine asked me what I thought would be the downfall of this country.
I answered "The Economy."
I'm not sure anymore.
The more I think about it, I feel it is the attitude taking over the country, and specifically Washington D.C., of "My way or the highway."
As long as comprimise takes a back seat in politics, I feel we are collectively fucked as a country.
Haven't been here for a bit. It wasn't planned, it just happened. It has caused me to think about why I have this website. I now have a bit of a plan. Let's see if I follow through with it.
In the mean time, a tragic event happened here in Colorado the other night. If you wish to help, please assist one of the following:
Aurora Mental Health Center -- The Aurora Mental Health Center is offering crisis counseling to anyone in need
United Way of Denver -- United Way Denver is working to reunite families with lost loved ones who they believe may have been victims of the Aurora theater shooting.
The Denver Center For Crime Victims -- The local nonprofit is providing bilingual/bicultural counselors to victims and families affected by the tragedy. The organization provides resources such as financial aid, provisions, support groups and more during times of trauma.

... and they make me look so much taller ;)
Thanks to Candy for the photo.
I stumbled upon a new webcomic, The Zombie Hunters, and spent the day reading it.
