I have started a Flickr site for photos of mine. I have never found a photo album maker for GNU/Linux that I have really liked. I use to use Arles Image but, alas, it is not ported to GNU/Linux. Bummer!
~
Have managed to upload most of my months allotment of photos. Now I'll just have to upgrade to the "pro" so I can have more than 3 sets. The current sets are Sunsets, Graphitti and Denver Winter 06/07.

.: law of karma :.
We should not seek revenge on those who have committed crimes against
us, or reply to their crimes with other crimes. We should reflect that
by the law of karma, they are in danger of lowly and miserable lives to
come, and that our duty to them, as to every being, is to help them to
rise towards Nirvana, rather than let them sink to lower levels of
rebirth.

.: fyi: font size across different browsers :.
The confusion has finally ended.
After much trial and error I have finally figured out how to get the font size the same across different browsers. I usually use Firefox and I have always wondered why the font size was smaller when viewing it as apposed to IE or Opera. Finally the cunuderum is over, it's all in the way you specify the size. I have been coding with CSS and have specifying the size using small, x-small ect. Well if you use pixels instead, such as 12px, magically the font size appears the same across the board.
Sweet!

Thanks to my man who has serious conspiracy issues for initially passing

Yep, I changed up the look a little bit. New background with pages for the blog and archives.
I also spent a few hours today to get the blog to look about the same in IE, Opera and Firefox. IE and Opera are the same, but in Firefox the text is smaller. For some reason Firefox doesn't read CSS the same way as IE and Opera. Oh well.
** Update: 06/11/2005 **
Well, I have gone back to just plain color backgrounds. They just load faster.

.: fatcow fails totally :.
My hosting service Fatcow finally gets their servers working again!
Sometime after 2:17 PM MDT yesterday all of Fatcow hosting service went down. It was so bad that not even their site was up. All the email sent to me since then is gone. It was just swallowed up by the deep, dark void of never-never land in cyberspace.
They where just sold to Endurance International and I hope this is not a sign of things to come.
-- Update --
At this time Fatcow's mail server is not working. I can log in but I am not able to send or receive any email. They must have either had a total system failure or they just moved everything to Endurance in Massachusetts and didn't say anything about it.
This sucks! Come on Fatcow, lets get this fixed!
-- More Info --
Read this thread on Google Groups
-- Update --
This morning at about 10:00 am I finally started receiving consistent email. So, we are looking at about 42 hours of down time all together on my email.
An interesting note: There has been no word from Fatcow about what happened. No emails or info on their site. Nothing.
Very Strange.

.: shakedown rides :.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I commuted on the "Winter Bike", taking it out on it's shakedown rides. It is not a bad ride, but there are some issues.
The first and biggest problem, the chain comes off the sprocket and
chainring after medium to big bumps (check out the laxness of the chain
in the photo). Because the frame has vertical dropouts, I can not get
the chain tight enough. I have ordered a Surly
1x1 Singleator.
It is a rather spendy fix, but the only one short of getting a new frame.
Second, the frame is a tad large. I am going to have to purchase a shorter stem. The 100mm one is just a little to long. The measurement of my Sirrus from seat tip to the end of the stem is 20 1\8", the winter bike is 20 7\8". Now I realize that is just a mear 3\4 of an inch, but it stretches me out just a tad to much. I can't really use the bar ends and it is uncomfortable to slide back on the saddle when climbing hills.
I will hang with just getting the Singleator for now. Maybe in the near future I will replace the stem. Then, maybe, someday I will pick up a singlespeed frame. I figure, hey, I have almost every part I need now. Hmmm, a Surly 1x1 would be nice.
-----
By the way, I have revamped the cycling pages. A few new things have arrived.

.: having fun :.
I spent a lot of this weekend teaching myself cascading style sheets. In fact the blog now uses one.
I am having problems with Opera though. For some reason it is not fully reading the css file. At this point I have no idea why. Some of the classes for paragraphs work but others don't. Also, the body classes are not showing up. Thus, no background image nor Comic Sans font. I have no idea why other that Opera just doesn't read them yet.
I am unsure if Netscape can read the site properly or not.

It is a weekend of web site work, that's for sure.
My next rebuild is the old Cold Mountain area that I had not touched in a few years. It has been reincarnated as Taoism, Buddhism and Zen.
I have cleaned up the code on most of the pages and have updated the links. I will also be adding more content in the coming weeks. I just need to finish putting it all together, but I wanted to get the initial area up and running to find any problems.

was better that just a huge list of everything together.

.: New Stuff on LarsonsWorld :.
Yo, I have added a Video
Gallery to the web site. Since I now have 500 mb of space to take up
on FatCow
Hosting I might as well start filling it up with more useless stuff.
Included
is:
S-11 Redux: (Channel) Surfing the Apocalypse
Produced and Directed by
Stephen Marshall
Distributed by Guerrilla News Network
12 minutes
2002
Culled
from over 20 hours of television footage recorded over a one month
period and across 13 networks, S-11 Redux is a sound-bite blitzkrieg
that challenges the messages we have been fed from our mainstream media
and the government it serves. Be warned - this video moves quickly and
will require at least two viewings to digest its full impact. You may
never be able to look at the coverage of S-11 and its post-impact
coverage the same way, ever again.

Did a little streamlining on this page today. Took out some of the many, many gif images that where buttons for links and replaced them with typed links. I have done a few things to the web site:
- I have finally started my cycling page - Go
- I have made a list of my RSS Subscriptions - If you are interested - Go
- I have uploaded most of my collection of Editorial Cartoons - It is just a list that links to them - Go
And that is about all for now. Hopefully I will have another post of interesting stuff (at least to me) here soon.
