Gore Pass Loop
The Parking Area
The start of the ride is a parking area that is 11 miles up CO134 from US40.
The junction of of US40 and CO134 is 6 miles north of Kremmling.
This parking area is on the north side of the road and just east of the Gore Pass summit and campground.
From the parking lot start up FR185 (heading north) for 1.75 miles to the junction of FR185 and FR243.

FR185/FR243 Junction
Turn right/east at the junction of FR185 / FR243.
(There is a sign that says "Red Dirt Road ->/ Trucks Only").
This is a fun descent to FR100-Red Dirt Road and is about 4.5 miles long.

FR185/FR100-Red Dirt Road Junction
Turn left at the junction of FR185 / FR100-Red Dirt Road.
Ride up this road for about 2.75 miles to the junction of FR100-Red Dirt Road / FR250

FR100/FR250 Junction
Start up FR250, which you will be on for the next 8 miles.
It climbs up about 1.75 miles to some beaver ponds and then another half mile to North Gore Pass.
You know you have crossed the pass when you start descending.
There is a short descent followed by a short climb and then the main descent down to FR243.
The main descent is about 4 miles.

The turn at the junction of FR250 / FR243 is a sharp turn back to your left.
It is a 7 mile climb back up to the FR243 / FR185 junction.
The mile marker signs will let you know how far you have gone.
And then it is just 1.75 miles back down to the parking area and it's beer time!
