2001 Specialized Sirrus Comp

This was what I used for my daily commutes to work and back home, errands and whatever road rides I do.
Now I am starting to use the Single Speed for work commute and errands.

I bought this one in the spring of 2002 for a decent discount. I think I paid just over $500 for it.

Modifications:

  • Cassette is a 12-23.
  • Crank is a double with just a 42 tooth chainring and CyclocrossWorld chainring guard.
  • Shortened handlebars by 2 inches.
  • Replaced stem with a 100mm.
  • Replaced original wheels (Mavic CXP21 with Ritchey road hub) with Ritchey DS Pro Wheelset.
  • Rear Derailleur is a Shimano 105

Pedro's Black & Blue Single

I re-built this one in 2005 from my old single.
I use it for whatever.

The cost was more than I wanted, but it was fun putting it together.
(I could have bought a complete singlespeed cheaper!)

The Specs:

  • Frame: Nashbar Steel
  • Wheels: Surly Hubs with Mavic 221 rims.
  • Tires:
  • Crank: The original one from my Sirrus, a Specialized, with a single 36 tooth chainring and CyclocrossWorld chainring guard.
  • Pedals, brakes and levers, threadless headset adapter, stem, seat tube and saddle are all Performance Forte Team.
  • Chain: SRAM PC-7X.
  • Freewheel: Shimano 17 tooth BMX.
  • Surly Singleator chain tensioner

2001 Trek 8000

My mountain bike. You can probably figure out what I use this ride for.

I bought this bike in the summer of 2002 for less than half price! Somewhere around $600.

The only thing I have changed on this bike was to replace the seat tube with a long one.
It is a pretty small frame, but I like small frames on mountain bikes.
