LarsonsWorld | Ubuntu 8.04 on Dell Inspiron 6000

Full Specs

I am now running Ubuntu 8.04.
Unlike 7.10 and 7.04, the upgrade worked fine and I haven't had to do a fresh install
I am having no problems with suspend.
As with 7.10, I remove Tracker Search Tool, as I don't use it, because of the reported Load_Cycle_Count and I found after removing it my increase in counts dropped significalty.

Installation Instructions:
Being a newbie to the Linux world, I will not even attempt to give instructions or help.
For me, the Ubuntu 6.10 distribution just overall worked from the install.
There is an incredible amount of useful information on the Ubuntu Forums, which I have used extesively to teach myself.
I know lots of people have problems with wireless - Mine works, but to be honest, what exactly I did I'm not really sure. lol

~ Update ~
I have updated to 7.04. Originally I did an update, but after playing with my system I broke something and did a fresh install.
The main difference between 6.10 and 7.04 for me was the ease of wireless.
With 7.04 it worked from the get-go.

Why did I go with Ubuntu:
While trying to create a dual boot system, I toasted my XP install and the computer wouldn't boot into anything.
Ubuntu was the only iso I had burned at the time, so I decided, what the hell, lets see what happens.
The rest is history. ;)

Things that worked from the get-go:

Things I had to work on:

Things that I haven't tried, so who knows if they work
